Accounting Clerk

Location: In-Office / Irving, TX

FLSA Status: Part-Time / Hourly /  Non-exempt

 

Reporting to the Corporate Assistant Controller, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounting and reporting functions on the General Ledger side of our team managing QuickBooks Desktop. This role will also assist the AP specialist, cash applications specialists and AR specialists as needed. The Accounting Assistant takes a client service approach to ensuring internal and external customers experience positive interactions with the Grace Hill accounting team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages accounting function within Quickbooks Desktop 
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly invoicing from QB to bill customers
  • Manages Third-party vendor portal site to upload invoicing as requested by customers
  • Reconciles individual customer accounts to assist with AR / collections or cash application queries
  • Supports accounting team with pulling data and reporting from QuickBooks
  • Assists Corporate Assistant Controller with year-end financial audits
  • Assist with month end duties such as recurring journal entries, booking accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Document new procedures 
  • Work on special projects assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controller as needed
  • Supports cash applications specialist with researching payments and misapplication on account

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, college degree preferred
  • QuickBooks Desktop experience minimum of 2-3 years
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of general accounting experience
  • Accounts receivable, billing specialist, account payable, and/ or cash applications knowledge preferred
  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives
  • Ability to multitask and manage time amid multiple competing deadlines
  • Attention to detail with high-volume of transactions 
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures required
  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures and accounting systems required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required - Pivot tables a plus
  • Solid written and oral communication skills required
  • Experience in a highly data-driven environment is a plus
